US STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

The statute of limitations is the law which sets a time limit within which a lawsuit must be brought. Different types of cases have different statutes of limitation.

Very important - If you have a personal injury claim of any kind (wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, wrongful termination, discrimination, etc.), it is critical that you know what the statute of limitation is for your type of case.

The reason for that is, if your lawsuit is not brought within the time limit that applies to your case, your right to sue and recover damages is lost forever.

Typically, statutes of limitation run anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years, depending on the type of case. So, if you have a personal injury claim, don’t hesitate - contact a qualified attorney immediately. The attorney can tell you what the statute of limitations is, for your case.
